Web Chix Connected, our first Social Media Week NY event happened last night at Hyper Island in Manhattan. We were super stoked to screen Tiffany Shlain’s brilliantly compelling documentary film Connected and meet our sassy members in person. Tiffany joined us via Skype during the panel discussion and shared her thoughts on making Connected but also how interconnectedness has influenced her filmmaking process. @guidetoglo kept our followers up to date on Twitter throughout the evening:
- Women are reinventing ideas & fueling innovation…social media is introducing new female identities + coversations.
- @FABny developed a global network of like-minded women motivated in tech. Jobs are being filled
- @tiffanyshlain’s film, #Connected, is creating a movement of interdependence. She’s seeking contributions for her next feature.
- The motive of deep connection is vital in growing social media. The medium is evolving…women play a huge role.
- Digital Girls Club is an opportunity to inspire others. It’s a platform for growth & building new connections. #WebChixConnected
- Moderator @AmyVernon notes: “Don’t be afraid to change things.”#WebChixConnected
We ended the evening feeling more connected, energized and inspired. Special shout out to our web chix: Amy Vernon, Jennifer Hays, Amanda Jaskiewicz, Sylvia Martinez, Heidi Dangelmaier and Sandra Ordonez. Thanks for joining us last night, babes! ❤
